What happens when I book the course?
• You will receive an email with your course joining instructions, including the venue address and course start times.
What do I need to attend this course?
Delegates should have a good understanding of, and be able to read and write English.
No formal qualifications or experience are necessary and you do not need to revise before the day course.
Delegates are required to show photographic identification, such as a passport or driving license. If you have a National Insurance Number, it would be ideal to also provide this on the day of or following the course. You will not be permitted to sit your exam without photographic proof of ID. If you have any queries, please contact us before your course.
What should I expect on the day?
The course will typically run from 8:30am and lasts around 5-7 hours. You will be provided all details, including login information on how to access the course portal inside of 48 hours of your course start date.
Agenda
The course aims to ensure that individual responsibilities are understood, covering:
- Why they are carrying out their identified duties
- What is expected of them
- Contributing to the safety of the workplace
At the end of the course Delegates will be able to:
- Understand the need to prevent accidents
- Have an understanding of health and safety law
- Identify how their role fits into the control and management of the site
- Understand the need for risk assessments and method statements
- Appreciate the need to perform safely and to stop and ask for advice if not sure
- Report unsafe acts to prevent an accident
Delegates successfully completing the course will receive a CITB Construction Skills Site Safety Plus Health & Safety Awareness certificate. This is used in conjunction with the CITB Operatives Test to allow candidates to apply for a Green CSCS Labourers Card.
